Auxerre, France, June 26, 2014 —Mouvex®, part of Pump Solutions Group (PSG®) and a leading manufacturer of positive displacement pumps, is pleased to announce the launch of its new Product Recovery Initiative. Officially launched at the Institute of Food Technologists’ IFT Annual Meeting & Food Expo – which took place from June 21-14 in New Orleans, LA, USA – this new Product Recovery Initiative shows hygienic manufacturers the enormous potential for operational waste reduction and the associated cost savings (or “Profit Recovery”) by using Mouvex Eccentric Disc Pump Technologies.
Mouvex’s new Product Recovery Initiative provides hygienic manufacturers with a complete suite of market-specific tools that have been designed to increase knowledge and highlight the tremendous cost-savings potential from utilizing Mouvex Product Recovery Technology. The product recovery program includes a new website – available in multiple languages – that serves as an online repository for market knowledge, instructional videos, brochures, blog articles and other sales tools.
“The attendees at IFT were very impressed with the Product Recovery benefits that can be obtained by using Mouvex eccentric disc pumps,” said Carrie Halle, PSG Marketing Director, Amerias. “During the show, many attendees witnessed the unique Demo Unit from Mouvex that easily shows how manufacturers can save money and recover product from the piping thanks to our technology. This was a great experience that showed real results!”
In food-and-beverage, pharmaceutical and cosmetic-manufacturing applications, Product Recovery is a term that refers to the high utilization (or yield) of products while substantially eliminating waste – and thereby increasing profits – that would otherwise remain in suction or discharge process lines during changeovers or at the end of production runs. The key to optimizing product recovery, and, by extension profit recovery, is identifying and employing the most efficient and reliable pumping technology, one that can be trusted to reliably strip suction or discharge lines of valuable raw materials and salable end products. For more than a century, eccentric disc pump technology from Mouvex has stood ready to optimize product recovery rates thanks to an operating principle that provides non-pulsing, low-slip operation with high volumetric consistency.
Mouvex eccentric disc pumps are ideal for optimizing product recovery applications because of their ability to pump air, which creates a vacuum effect on the pump’s suction side and a compressor effect on the discharge side, which produces a plug effect that pushes a complete product “plug” out of the piping. This superior suction and compression effect enables Mouvex pumps to recover product from transfer lines at rates up to 90%, potentially resulting in thousands of dollars of cost savings per year. Other operational benefits include dry-run and self-priming capabilities, seal-less design that eliminates leakage, shear-sensitive operation and the ability for clean-in-place (CIP)/sanitize-in-place (SIP).
